On Jan. 6, 2014, at age 94, Otto E. Henning "received his final promotion to heaven."
The last survivor of 13 children of the Rev. Carl and Emilie (Buch) Henning, Otto was born in Marinette County Wis., in 1919. Their family moved to Sebewaing, Mich., where he attended high school.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He graduated from Central Michigan University and received a master's degree from the University of Michigan.
He taught school in Freeland, Mich., and was an English professor at Delta College.
He is survived by his wife Jean, and his two sons Mark and Lee Henning, all of Kalispell; as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan.10, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kalispell, 400 W. California St., Kalispell.
