Pauline Jepsen

November 15, 1935 — November 6, 2020

Pauline Loiseau Jepsen passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her children, on Nov. 6, 2020, in Kalispell.

Pauline was born to Albert and Alberta Loiseau on Nov. 15, 1935, in Hartford, Connecticut; she was the youngest of two children. Pauline graduated from Mt. St. Joseph’s Academy and also graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing and St. Francis School of Anesthesia. She worked briefly at St. Francis Hospital.

Pauline met the love of her life, Richard Jepsen, at a basketball game at UCONN in 1956. They married on Dec. 27, 1958. They had eight children while living in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

In 1977, Pauline and Richard moved with their family to Haines, Alaska. They lived there for 37 years. In 2014 Pauline and Richard moved down to Kalispell to be close to their children.

Pauline had a contagious, sweet smile and loved to laugh. Pauline lived a full life, was always thinking of and doing for others — she had a true gift of hospitality. Her love of baking and cooking will be long remembered with her delicious scones, Christmas cookies and pies. She had such a special relationship with each of her children and took a special interest in each of her grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Loiseau, husband Richard Jepsen, son Steven Jepsen, daughter Christine Moore, and two grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her children, son Richard Jepsen and wife Sarah of Delta Junction, Alaska, daughter Jean Kierce and husband Dan of Salem, Oregon, son Ken Jepsen and wife Joan of Kalispell, daughter Sarah Carbajal and husband Francisco of Kalispell, daughter Beth Kimble and husband Ben of Kalispell, and son Peter Jepsen and wife Esther of Kalispell;18 grandchildren, Mickelle, Christopher, Kristen, Kevin, Seth, Andrea, Elizabeth, Joshua, Julie, Sarah Beth, Ana, James, Rachel, Celeste, Paulina, Kathrin, Isabella, and Karissa; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Alma Loiseau, niece Heidi Loiseau, nephew Roger Loiseau, all of West Haven, Connecticut, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
