Phyllis M. Buck Ramey, 80, “went to be with her Lord and Savior” on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at the Kalispell Heritage Place care center, surrounded by her family and a compassionate staff. Phyllis passed away due to complications from COPD.
She was born April 18, 1934, in the family home in Creston to Phil and Wilma Buck. She grew up on the family truck garden farm in Creston. Phyllis attended first through eighth grades at the Creston School and went on to graduate from Flathead County High School in 1952.
She spent most of her adult life in Las Vegas, and after 40 years retired from working at the Union Plaza Hotel. The past seven years Phyllis has called the Kalispell Heritage Place home where she was loved and well taken care of.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Phyllis has three children, daughter Joan Weaver of Creston, daughter Donna Ramey of Las Vegas, and son Tim Ramey of Las Vegas. Phyllis has five grandchildren, Casey and Sky Forester, Jazmin Townsend, and Sean and Brett Williams. She also has three great-grandchildren; and is also survived by her sister, Frances Baltrusch, of Havre.
Her extended family and many friends will miss Phyllis’ quick wit, her laughter and her musical talent.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Kalispell Heritage Place. Burial will take place at the Creston Cemetery.
