Phyllis A. Saulter, 88, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in her home surronded by her family.
Phyllis was born in Titonka, Iowa on Feb. 27, 1925, to Chester and Madeline Lamoreux. The family moved to Stevensville in 1937. Phyllis graduated from Stevensville High School in 1942, and moved to Missoula soon after graduation.
Phyllis married the love of her life, Donald Saulter, on May 22, 1946. Phyllis and Don enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting for several years before Donald passed away unexpectedly. Phyllis took care of the office work for Donald's business until his passing, and then worked as a waitress for many years to support her three children.
After retirement, Phyllis moved to Kalispell where she had resided for the past 16 years. She loved to garden and her green thumb showed in her amazing display of flowers that bloomed throughout the summer. When not gardening, Phyllis passed her time with needlework, sewing and entertaining her grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Saulter.
She is survived by her three children, Sandy Schellinger and husband Al of Whitefish, Vicki Saxby and husband Kent of Kalispell, and son Mike Saulter and his partner Marion Titus of Clinton. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Kyle, Nicci, Ryan, Sarah and Lindsay; as well as three great-grandchildren.
No services will be held at her request. Phyllis' ashes will be inurned this summer at St. Mary's Cemetery in MIssoula, beside her husband.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to our "angel" Lori Mitchell, who made an enormous impact on Phyllis' life.
Donations in Phyllis' honor may be made to Home Options Hospice, 275 Corporate Dr., Ste. 600, Kalispell, MT 59901.
