Pie Netherly, 61 years young, of Kalispell, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, after a courageous and graceful fight with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband, family and friends.
Pie was born Helene Jo on Feb. 29, 1952, in Rapid City, S.D., to parents Beryl and Joseph Lintz. She was married to Michael Netherly for more than 40 years.
Pie was a woman of many talents. She worked at the Pony Express Restaurant for 30 years. She raised rabbits, chickens and peacocks. Pie loved children, animals and flowers. She was the go-to person if you had a question about anything, it was just a minute, "I will call Pie." She was the last child to participate in the Over the Range cattle drive in South Dakota. She was an excellent equestrian and fish-finder. Many fish will breathe a sigh of relief.
Pie is survived by her husband and her son, Jake; her mother; her sister, Vicki; in-laws; friends Bob and Connie, and too many others to list. A special thanks to James and Brenda Netherly and Mariah Vance. Thanks to hospice.
A memorial celebration is planned.
