Ray Norby

October 5, 1947 — June 17, 2016

Ray Norby, 68, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016, after a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lynn; children, Jerry and Karyn Norby, and Denise and Ben Belt; grandchildren Morgan and Liesel, Alexxandra and Zarek; and brother and his family, Rand, Serina and Shawn Norby.

Ray was born in Kalispell on Oct. 5, 1947, to Sherman and Florence Norby. He attended Kalispell schools and graduated from Flathead High School in 1965.

In his younger years he was the drummer for The Disasters, and they often played around the valley. He married Lynn Moller on Aug. 30, 1969, in Kalispell. He got his automotive start at Hendricksen Motors before opening LaSalle Automotive and Electric in 1981 and worked until his death.

Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and had a nickname for each of them.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A potluck reception will follow at the Moose Lodge in Evergreen. You’re welcome to bring a dish.
