Raymond Waterman, 84, of Kalispell passed away April 12, 2015 of natural causes at the ILH nursing home. He was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to know him and will be dearly missed. He was born June 12, 1930 to Lilly Mae Goss and Willis L Waterman in Malheur County Oregon along with his older sister Doris. Ray had many jobs throughout his life but perhaps he will be remembered most for humbly providing janitorial services to many of our local businesses. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies such as hunting, fishing, an evening beer, spending time with friends and a special adoration of dachshunds, which he shared with his loving wife, Judy Ann Benetto, of 45 years. As a married couple, they enjoyed playing cards and cuddling up with their favorite dachshund Gretchen. Ray would rave about his wife's wonderful cooking and many of their family and friends fondly recall their hospitable nature. Her Italian cooking was something to be remembered as many who had the privilege to share a meal with them will testify. Ray loved and adored his wife so much and mourned the day of her passing on October 11, 2010. Although Ray and Judy bore no children they were dearly loved and accepted by every child that came to know them. Because of his small stature, this made him incredibly popular with the young ones and he light-heartedly congratulated each one who finally surpassed his height. He was admirably known for his wisdom and genuineness and readily gave advice and guidance with enough wit and tact to make the ones he was helping be at ease. His quick wit and fun sarcasm will be dearly missed, along with his popular pet name he had for everyone, "Kid". Those who were close with and loved Ray also knew that his love of his creator Jehovah God was of utmost importance in his life. He showed his love for God by dedicating his life to Him on August 7, 1954 when he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He took pride in regularly speaking both door to door and to anyone he might meet, about the hopes he had for the future that Jehovah God and His son Jesus Christ will soon put into place. Although he dearly missed his parents, sister, wife and many other family and friends who had preceded him in death, he took great comfort from the promises set forth in the Bible that he will soon be reunited with them right here on the earth that will be restored to paradisiac conditions. One of his favorite scriptures showed the hope he had at John 5:28,29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus') voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life... " Those of us celebrating Ray's life, now look forward to seeing him soon just as God has promised. As a final request from Ray he wanted everyone who knew him to meet together and reflect on this hope that he so strongly held close to his heart. A remembrance of his life will be held at 1pm on Saturday April 25, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 100 Valley View Court in Kalispell.
