Reesa R. Downs, 42, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.
She was born on Sept. 17, 1970, in Macon, Ga., to Reese and Brenda (Meadows) Downs. Reesa was raised in Tallahassee, Fla., where she attended schools, graduating from Lincoln High School.
After high school, Reesa received her Associate of Arts degree from the University of New York in nursing. She worked for 12 years at Capital Health Plan in Tallahassee.
Reesa moved to Bigfork where she worked for two years at Lakeview Care Center. Reesa volunteered at Swan River School, where she was involved with the PTA. She loved her animals, reading and especially her children.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Meadows Downs; and grandparents, Harold and Catherine Downs, and Ralph and Elizabeth Meadows.
She is survived by her partner, Steve Ward; her father, Reese, and wife, Sherri Downs, and children Paxton and Colton Russell; sister, Leatha, and her husband, Mark Wiseman; and two nieces, Tayler and Ashley Wiseman.
A celebration of life service will be held today at 11 a.m. today, April 11, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with Chaplain Drew Buckner officiating. Her cremains will be buried in Georgia.
The family has requested that donations in her name be given to the charity of choice.
