Richard L. (Dick) Barron, 78, passed away in the presence of his loving family on April
16, 2016 due to complications following surgery. Dick was born June 14, 1937 in
Spokane, WA to Leonard W. and Betty C. Barron. Dick grew up in Spokane and
graduated from Central Valley High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Naval
Reserve and served 10 years. During that time, he worked as a roofing/general
contractor.
In 1964 Dick met and married the “apple of his eye”, Nancy C. Poston. Dick and Nancy
just celebrated 52 years of marriage on April 11”‘. They had five children which they
supported with love, time and attention to their different endeavors, interests and
activities. In addition, Dick was involved with many organizations including the
Kalispell Youth Softball Association, 4-H, the Lion's Club and Jaycees. He also
dedicated a number of years as the local and state chairman of Duck‘s Unlimited. Dick
worked for the State of Montana for 26 years, retiring in 1998.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Len and Betty Barron, in—laws Howard and
Mabel Poston, and his daughter, Theresa Kinniburgh. Dick is survived by his wife,
Nancy, daughter, Paula DeWit, sons Bruce (Cindy) and Mark (Cammi) Barron, daughter
Andrea (Wai Choi) Barron, eleven grandchildren; Kelsey and Kayla DeWit, Rachael and
Randall Barron, Ryan, J anae and Luke Barron, Keanu Ng, and one great-grandchild. He
is also survived by brothers Lonnie and Steve Barron.
Services for Dick will be held at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Art Crane
ofiiciating on Thursday, April 21 , 2015 at 11am.
