Robert Holland

Robert Leamon Holland left this earth on April 1, 2023, at Logan Health Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. Bob was born September 25, 1942, in Seattle WA to Thelmer & Lottie Holland. His departure that day was followed immediately by the most ferocious but random spring snow squall you’d ever seen. Five minutes later it was over, and the sun shone down beautifully from beautiful blue skies above. Bob is now reunited in heaven with his Daddy (Thelmer), Mom (Lottie), and brothers Vernon, Carl, and Herman.

Bob is survived by his ever-loving wife of 49 years JoAnne, Daughter Kari Barnhart (Mike) Son Brian Holland (Kari Lynn) three grandchildren, Morgan, Brennan, and Jordan. Bob was especially proud to be a Marine. He joined the Marine Corps Reserve in October of 1963 and served seven years with the 7th 155mm Gun Battery out of Bakersfield CA before being honorably discharged. Bob spent most of his life as a tradesman, craftsman, inventor, plumber and sometimes just being a “freaking genius!” He loved waterskiing, and recreating with the love of his life enjoying to the fullest everything this world has to offer. Bob lived a full life.

He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandpa or Papa as everybody knew him. Although gone from this earth he remains a huge presence in the lives of all those who knew him. Bob was worldwide. He made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered whether it was friends from the west coast to the deep south where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Bob” or his dear friends north of the border, he was loved by all. Bob never met a stranger. Aside from his very large stature, Bob was 100% a “larger than life” type of guy. He’ll always be remembered for his booming laugh and that twinkle in his eye as he smiled. Bob loved to laugh! He had quite the ability to make others around him laugh as well. Bob was a jokester, there was never a dull moment or a conversation that didn’t involve a lot of laughter. It seems only fitting that he left us on April Fool’s Day.

Bob loved his family more than anything in this world and always would sacrifice anything for them. Rest In Peace Mr. Bob.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1pm at 494 Tronstad Rd, Kalispell, Montana.
