Robert “Bobby” Clarence Lane, 89, of Kalispell, passed away in Bigfork on Aug. 30, 2015.
Bobby was born July 12, 1926, in Fairmount City, Pennsylvania, to Edward and Anna (Scherf) Lane. He was raised in El Paso, Texas, where he received his diploma from El Paso High School.
Bobby was a sailor on a tanker in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
He married Permelia B. Lane in 1945 in El Paso. They were married for 31 years before Permelia passed away. In 1977, Bobby married Patsy F. Lane and moved to Kalispell in 1983. Bobby worked as a bookkeeper for Pittsburgh Paints in El Paso, and was co-owner of Bennett Glass Company. After becoming sole owner, he changed the name to Bobby Lane Glass and Upholstery.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and dominos. He involved himself in community activities with Pro Life, Prison Ministries, the Gideon’s, helping those in need, and the set free sermon ministry.
Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, Permelia B. Lane, in 1976; wife, Patsy F. Lane, in 2006; son, Daniel J. Lane, in 2000; and three brothers.
He is survived by his children, Bob Junior Lane and Leti, David Lawrence Lane and Susan, Linda May Canfield, Clarann Lane Estrada and Corky, Judy Kay Soucie and Denny, and Patty Jo Gibbs and Scott; brothers, Charles Lane and Phillip Lane; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Bible Presbyterian Church, 344 Fifth Ave. W., in Kalispell.
The family asks memorial contributions be made to the Gideon’s.
