Robert “Bob” Gabriel Scott, 85, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at his home in Lakeside of natural causes. Bob was born on May 30, 1930, in Great Falls to Walter Scott and Grace (Camp) Scott. He was raised in Great Falls were he attended grade school, and junior high at Paris Gibson in Great Falls, then attended high school his freshman year at Fort Benton High School, and the remaining years at Great Falls High School, graduating in 1948. Bob ranched at his parents’ Loma Ranch in Loma, then did an apprenticeship in auto mechanics at Robinson Motors in Great Falls. Bob joined the Air National Guard after high school and was activated by the U.S. Air Force in 1951. While serving his country, he served as an aircraft mechanic and was stationed at George Air Force Base in Victorville, California, and Shepherd Air Force Base in Texas. He was honorably discharged July 19, 1952. Bob married Joyce Sheveland in Great Falls in 1953. After almost 30 years Bob retired from the U.S Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Jason Cox, brothers Gilbert and Norman Scott, and sisters Helen Jorgenson and Juanita Sutherland. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce (Sheveland) Scott; daughter Bobbie Scott, grandchild Chad Wenger, and nephews David Sutherland and wife Fern, Scott Sutherland and Mack Sutherland. We would like to thank Dr. Davis and Dr. Palchuk for the amazing care they provided Bob for many, many years. The family suggest memorials be made to the Lakeside QRU. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Lakeside Community Church
