Roberta Krogstad

January 6, 1956 — April 26, 2016

Bobbie Jean (Morton) Krogstad passed away peacefully surround by her family on April 26, 2016, after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer. Bobbie was determined to do whatever it took to get better. Unfortunately, she wasn’t given the time to do so.

Bobbie (Roberta) was born Jan. 6, 1956, to Willard and Delores Morton in Kalispell. She attended grade school in Evergreen and was proud to have grown up in Evergreen.

She married Terry Krogstad on Nov. 15, 1973. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Hawaii and spent two years living the good life before moving back to Kalispell. On June 22, 1979, they welcomed their first daughter Megan, followed by their second daughter Amanda on May 1, 1984. Bobbie loved all babies and kids but none more so than her grandchildren Colten, Hadley and Liam. She would play with them as long as they wanted, hours after everyone else had tired out.

Bobbie spent many years working at Kmart, Woolworths, Shopko, and most recently Costco. With her endearing personality and quick wit, she became good friends with many coworkers and customers. You couldn’t go out in public with her without having to stop to talk to everyone because everyone knew Bobbie.

Bobbie will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Terry Krogstad; daughter Megan and husband Christopher Steen; daughter Amanda Krogstad; grandchildren, Colten and Liam Marrone and Hadley Steen; mother, Delores Morton; brother, Jeff Morton; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father Willard Morton, sister Kathy Masa, and great-niece Jessica Masa.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Lavin, as Bobbie said, “I love that man.” The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at The HealthCenter that took wonderful care of Bobbie, her family, and friends during her final days. Finally, the family would like to thank Bobbie’s Costco “family” for all of their love and support during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in the Expo building at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Graveside interment will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens, at 2659 U.S. 93 N. in Kalispell, after which a celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held back at the Expo building.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to hospice.
