Rollin Schauble (age 89) of Kalispell, Montana passed away on June 27 2018. Rollin was born on May 22, 1929 in Killdeer, North Dakota. He was one of 9 children born to Robert and Mary Schauble, including 7 brothers and 1 sister. The family moved to St. John, Washington where he graduated as Salutatorian from St. John High School before attending Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Rollin played on the Bulldog basketball and baseball teams and was the basketball team captain during the 1951-52 season. He would often recall playing in an exhibition game with the Harlem Globetrotters in Los Angeles. Rollin graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and then taught Civics, Bookkeeping and Typing at Whitefish High School in Whitefish, MT. Rollin was also the Head Coach for the Whitefish Bulldogs Men’s Basketball Team. Rollin met Marge Nelson who taught grade school in Whitefish, and they were married in 1954. In 1966, Rollin moved on into a career with the New York Life Insurance Company where he stayed until his retirement in 2001. Rollin was an active member of the Kalispell Lions Club and Eagles Club 234. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed college and professional sports, participation in adult sports leagues and playing card games with friends. He is survived by his wife Marge; his children, Susan (Ross) Lukkason, Paul (Sherry) Schauble, Jill Jacobson, Bruce (Lorna) Schauble; grandchildren, Traci Lukkason, Joy Lukkason, Amy Chollman, Jacqueline Schauble, Joshua DeMotts, Branden DeMotts, Jusup Jacobson, Anja Jacobson, Abigail Schauble, Courtney Schauble; great grandchildren, Wyatt Jacobson and Zoey Lopez; and brothers/sisters-in-law, Milton (Catherine) Schauble, Phillip (Maureen) Schauble, Bill (Colleen) Schauble, Joe (Carolyn) Schauble, Betty Schauble, Frances Schauble, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Rollin was preceded in death by his sister Liz DeLong and three brothers, John Schauble, Don Schauble, and Al Schauble. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell, MT at 11:00 am.
