Rosetta R. Carpenter, 93, passed away July 24, 2013, in Kalispell.
Rosetta was born March 8, 1920, in Kalispell to Ernest and Ruth (Averill) Everett. She grew up in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1939.
She married Frank Carpenter in Red Lodge, and they had been together for 60 years before he preceded her in death.
She had worked for JCPenney's as a sales clerk for 15 years.
A few highlights of her life included a bus trip to "The Price Is Right" game show to meet Bob Barker; and at age 88 she was part of a raft trip on the Swan River, setting a Guinness World Record for the longest floating tube chain.
She was very proud of her numerous five generation family gatherings. She wintered in Bullhead City, Ariz., and loved to travel. Rosetta enjoyed playing bingo, keno and cards. She enjoyed annual family gatherings on her birthdays. Rosetta was very proud that she could still remember birthdays for all of her 60-plus grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was also involved with her church family.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; daughter, Geraldine Neas; sisters, Irene and Erna Mae; and brother, Ralph.
She is survived by son, Larry, and Bobbi Carpenter; and daughters, Frances and Marlowe Bruch; Helen and Larry Netzel, and Cindy and Matt Eklund; a brother, Irving, and sister, Arlene, both in Hawaii; and a sister, Ardith, in Oregon.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, at Epworth United Methodist Church, with burial following at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
