Sherlyn Anderson

September 26, 1948 — December 13, 2020

Kalispell

Sherlyn Irene Anderson age 72.

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Sherri, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.  She left us while under hospice care on Sunday December 13, 2020 at Health Center Northwest in Kalispell Montana.

Sherri was born in Missoula Montana in September 1948 to Ross and Eva Porter.  She grew up surrounded by many close cousins, the Porters of Missoula Montana.  She attended Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane Washington where she met her soulmate, Jerry Anderson.  After graduation Sherri went to WSU, while Jerry went into the Marine Corp.  They were later married in August 1968.

Sherri was the beloved mother to Cari and Daniel, and bonus mom to Jarrod and Noemi.  Proud grandmother of Gabriella, Richard, Brian, Jaden, Trevin and Triston.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ross and Eva Porter, and sister Debra Ann.

Sherri worked most of her life in banking.  She was always happy to help her longtime employer, Tom Weaver, with any new ventures. Everyone who had the pleasure of working with her became a friend.

Traveling was one of her passions. She took train rides to see the Seattle Seahawks in the Kingdome with friends.  Connecticut, to visit Cari.  Hawaii to visit Dan.  Several tropical vacations to Mexico with family and friends.  And many trips to Texas to visit grandkids.  Sherri was an avid reader, and loved her time in her many book clubs. She also enjoyed her many years in The Crafti-Annas homemakers club, where  she made many lifelong friendships.  Sherri loved to make baby blankets out of hairpin lace.  She made hundreds of them, and lovingly gifted them to anyone.

Sherri was the caretaker of our family.  Loving wife of 52 years to Jerry.  The kindest, most supportive mom to Cari and Dan.  She doted on her grandchildren, and they adored her right back.  Time with grammy was simply the best.  From countless sleepovers with Gabi, to endless card games with Jaden and many trips to Idaho and Texas to see Richard, Brian, Trevin and Triston.  She will forever be remembered as Super Gram.

Sherri's sweet smile is forever etched in our hearts, she will be deeply missed and remembered as the kindest woman we've ever known.  We are comforted in knowing she was a believer of Jesus Christ and is now in heaven with him.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021.
