Stanly Alden Abernathy age 68 , passed away on May 15, 2017 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
He died of acute hypoxic respiratory failure due to amyloidosis.
Stan was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on May 3, 1949 to Chester and Lucy Abernathy.
Stan was raised in Yacolt, Washington. He met and married Ruth Ann Ruonavaara in Calumet, Michigan in March 1974.
They raised nine children together in Yacolt, Washington.
Later they moved to Kalispell, Montana.
Stan was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lucy Abernathy, brother-in-law David Kysar, sister-in-law Ardith Homola, and nephew Jude Gillettte.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann Abernathy of Kalispell, his sons: Lee(Faith) Abernathy of Kalispell, Ward (Lori) Abernathy of View, WA, Paul Abernathy of Amboy, WA and Mark (Heidi) Abernathy of Yacolt, WA. and his daughters: Jody(Kyle) Reddig, Rosée (David) Benson, Sarah (Elden) Reddig, and Kelly (Mike) Ost all of Kalispell, MT and Jessica (David) Tanninen of Amboy, WA.
Also 45 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation is at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 6-8pm and the funeral will be held at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Lakeside at 10: 3 0 a.m. on Wednesday May 17 2017.
