Steven Cameron

September 14, 1948 — October 25, 2019

Kalispell

Steven Michael Cameron passed away October 25th, 2019 at the age of 71, but his larger than life persona and trademark stubbornness will not be forgotten.

Steve was born to Archie Jr. Cameron and Lesley Poston Reid on September 14th, 1948 in Kalispell, MT.  He was the oldest of 6 siblings.  As a young boy he and his family moved to Townsend, MT.  He worked on the family ranch and had several chores that kept him busy.  Steve had fond memories of living in Townsend, rough housing with his brothers and exploring the outdoors.

Steve had many interests, talents, and hobbies.  He was always collecting wood for his next carving project.  He would stay up all night creating beautiful paintings of the outdoors.  He was very musically inclined, playing the guitar, harmonica and singing to his kids.

Steve had a love for Montana.  He was very proud to be a native to Kalispell. He enjoyed the outdoors and the life style that Montana brought him. He would fish, float the river, pan for gold, and add to his rock collection. He always had his nose in a book and had a brilliant mind with an extremely high IQ. At one point in time, he had a rather large car collection.  He had a love for cars and motorcycles as well as a love for animals. His pets became part of the family, having cats, dogs, and horses.

He attended Flathead High School and received very good grades that just came natural to him.  He worked in the forest industry logging, as well as doing carpentry and construction work.  When he turned 52 he retired from the Union to focus raising his son Austen.

Even though Steve could be stubborn, he was a teddy bear at heart.  He was a great father, full of energy and always playing pranks, he was very proud of his children, making sure his kids knew how much he loved them.

He got baptized a few years back and we know he is in heaven living his dream.  Right now he is flying around in his airplane and driving around in his Porsche, having no aches and pains. His devout feistiness and stubbornness had served him well through - out his life, even in his waning months, he was a model of strong will and sheer determination right up until the end of his journey here on earth.  He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; Archie Jr. Cameron and Lesley Poston Reid, Late wife Laurie Mildenberger Cameron

He is survived by his children; Michelle Cameron Cline Black, Desiree Cameron Brewer, Austen Cameron and his wife Jackie. His grand children, Logan Black, Aaron Black and his only granddaughter, Brooke Brewer

He is also survived by his siblings, twins: David (Pattie) Cameron, Daniel (Lori) Cameron, brothers, Bart (Patricia) Toney, Shawn (Cathy) Toney, Doug Andersen and his sister Julie (Bill) Toney Abney, step brother, Wayne Cameron.  Step kids, Ron Gardner, Steve Gardner, Tina Gardner Morken “Tina, you will always hold a special place in Steve’s heart”, several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends

A tremendous heartfelt thanks goes out to, David and Pattie Cameron and the wonderful staff at Immanuel Lutheran Home and Frontier Hospice.

A huge high five, thumbs up, knuckle bump and a great big smile to you all from Steve.
