Steve Robertson, born March 23, 1959, in Conrad, Montana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the age of 65. Surrounded by his family, Steve concluded a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Steve served his country with honor before dedicating over 30 years of his life to Northwest Fuel. His time there was more than just a career; it was where he built a second family, earning the respect and love of his coworkers through his humor, dedication, and big-hearted spirit.

Steve had a lifelong love for farming and found joy working on the farm in Conrad, MT. He cherished the peacefulness of the land, the satisfaction of hard work, and the special memories he created with loved ones there.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Thayer Robertson; his parents, David and Ilene Robertson; and his brother, Jim Robertson.

Steve is survived by his loving children: daughter Holly Mewborn of Butte, MT, and son Robert Heathcock (Keshia) of Goldsboro, NC. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Ashley Richter of Butte, MT, and Shaye and Luke Heathcock of Goldsboro, NC. His brothers—Mike Robertson (May) of Seattle, WA; Randy Robertson (Mary) of Shelby, MT; his sister Misty Rae of Shelby, MT. and Lonnie Robertson (Judy) of Wyoming—as well as numerous nieces and nephews, will forever treasure the memories of his kind and gentle soul.

Steve’s life was marked by his deep love for family, friends, and the simple joys of life. His heart was as vast as the Montana skies, and to know him was to feel truly cared for. A loyal friend and confidant, he was always ready to offer advice, lend a helping hand, or share a laugh.

An enthusiastic Minnesota Vikings fan, Steve never missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite team. He found immense joy in family gatherings, time with friends, and creating a lifetime of cherished memories.

Steve’s gentle spirit, love for his family, his enduring kindness touched everyone who knew him. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love and laughter he brought into the world will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

“To know him was to love him.”

A celebration of Steve’s life will be determined for Spring of 2025.
