Tamara Elder

Tamara “Tammy” L. (Franzwa) Elder, 59, of Hungry Horse, passed away on Dec. 4, 2022.

Tammy was born on Jan. 27, 1963 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to her parents Jim Franzwa and Ellen Simonson. Tammy was a smart, funny, outgoing person. She met her best friend, love of her life and soulmate, Joe Elder, in Thompson Falls and they married on March 8, 1997.

Tammy loved spending time at her home in Hungry Horse with her girls, Kiesha and Pita. She loved to cook and have family game nights. Her true light shined most when she was out on the Thompson River with her husband and family, where she enjoyed fishing and camping.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Franzwa and Ellen Simonson.

Tammy is survived by her husband Joe Elder of Hungry Horse; daughter Lisa Austin (Phil Salvatore) of Trout Creek, Montana; son Michael Austin (Tess Austin) of Hungry Horse; brother Tracy Franzwa (Stephanie Ross) of Florida; and brother Terry Franzwa of Arizona. Along with her 6 grandchildren (all boys) and numerous friends.
