Ted Archie Sagen passed away the morning of Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, on Sagen Hill in Kalispell.
He was born on May 29, 1962, to Patricia Ann (Shalz) and Lloyd Archie Sagen, also on Sagen Hill. Lloyd passed away in 1964 and Patricia later married Edward Payne. Ted grew up with four siblings, Shelly, Dan and Wendy Sagen, and Edwin Payne. Ted and his ensemble of family, cousins, friends and pets provided countless crazy adventures and family events, giving the farm its character and charm. Ted graduated from Whitefish High School in 1980 and continued on to develop a successful career in plumbing.
On July 7, 1990, Ted married Toni (Libby) Sagen, and together they had three kids, Andrew (24), Jessica (23), and Matthew (19). In 1998, Ted founded Sagen’s Plumbing & Heating.
Ted’s ingenuity and goofy nature offered his companions endless entertainment, with the aid of his numerous redneck-engineered contraptions and fearless ambition to push automotives and his mother’s wits to their limits.
Ted was preceded by his father, Lloyd, and his niece, Melissa Sagen.
Survivors include his mother, stepfather and siblings, his children and daughter-in law, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Whitefish Church of the Nazarene, under the guidance of Pastor Jason Johnston.
