Timothy R. “Aux” Auxier, 76, passed away peacefully at his Kalispell home on Jan. 5, 2019.
Tim was born on Aug. 29, 1942, in Glendale, California, and was the son of Alvin Raymond “Ray” Auxier and Virginia “Dee” Endicott Auxier. Tim was a graduate of Del Norte High in Crescent City, California, in 1960 and attended Humboldt State in Arcata, California, and University of Portland.
His drive and motivation to excel his interests throughout his career included flight instructor, commercial truck driver, banking, owner/operator of a manufacturing business in weaving textiles and, more recently, as a transit driver at Glacier National Park.
His love of the outdoors fueled his interests in hunting, fishing and camping in his beloved Montana.
In his retirement years, his interests turned to turning wood and flying drones.
Tim is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary, of 27 years; son Foster Auxier of Portland, daughter Kimberly Fawcett of Portland, son Gregg Laananen and wife Britt of Mount Vernon, Washington, and daughter Robin Laananen of Los Angeles; five grandchildren, Bailee and Jhordyn Auxier, Noel Barker of Utah, Foster and Olivia Garofolo of Portland; and one great-grandson, Kal Barker.
Tim will be remembered as a passionate man who lived his life with strong ethics and integrity.
He was a devoted and loving husband, a father admired by his children, and a man capable of listening to others and offering them comfort and inspiration.
He will be sorely missed by his family and loved ones. Private family services will be held at a later date.
