Vicki Ann Jones passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family at The HealthCenter.
She was born March 29, 1955, to John and Gladys Schlabs in Kalispell. She attended Peterson Elementary, Kalispell Middle School and graduated from Flathead High School in 1973.
Vicki married Bruce Haskell June 13, 1974. They had one daughter, Sonia. In later years, Vicki married Larry Jones on Sept. 25, 1982.
Vicki lived most of her life in the Flathead Valley and loved every moment! Her life’s work was in various jobs helping and serving others, which was her desire! Vicki loved camping, being on the water, picking huckleberries, gardening, riding motorcycles, playing cards and the great outdoors, but the love of her life was her grandson Carter! She was given eight special years with him, enjoying all of those things and more, including eating ice cream for breakfast!
Vicki was preceded in death by her father, John; her mother, Gladys; her brother, Jackie; and husbands, Bruce and Larry.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sonia, and husband Dennis Petersen and grandson Carter of Kila; her sister Karen and her husband Gary Saurey of Whitefish; her sister Andrea Connor of Marysville, Washington; her brother Gordon Schlabs and his wife Barbara of Lakeside; and the last four years were spent with loving partner DelRay Gronley of Columbia Falls. Vicki is also survived by many loving and caring nieces, nephews and good friends!
Memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at Mission View Terrace, Lakeside, U.S. Hwy. 93 South.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local hospice. Our family would like to thank Dr. Lessmeier and group at Northwest Oncology Supportive Care, hospice and all the nurses and staff at The HealthCenter who supported and cared so much for Vicki and her family.
