Wayne passed away July 13, 2013, at the family home in Kalispell.
"Wayne J.," as Mom called him, was born on the family farm in Beatrice, Neb., on July 24, 1929.
He married his love, Beverly Bargman, on July 29, 1952.
A job as an architectural draftsman is what brought Dad and his family to Montana. Later, he worked as a construction estimator, from which he retired.
Dad loved Montana and enjoyed all outdoor activities, which he shared with family and friends. This legacy was passed on to his children and continues with his grandchildren.
When not outdoors Dad enjoyed woodworking, which included refurbishing his prized wooden Old Town canoe. Dad was forever journaling tidbits of his daily life. If we ever wanted to know anything, we just had to look in his black book! He was also very proud of his years as a Scoutmaster.
Dad's love of animals started as a boy in 4-H, raising his brown Swiss cow and springer spaniels. This evolved to a variety of animals, from horses down to chipmunks. Zeke (springer spaniel) and Zoey (Maltese) are currently at home comforting Mom.
Dad is survived by our mom, his wife, Bev, of 61 years; and his children, Debbie Harr and Kirk of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Diane McLaverty and Steve of Missoula, Dee Dee Graff of Missoula, Danette Evert and Wayne of Kalispell, and Dave Graff and Erika of Eatonville, Wash. Dad cherished his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers and their families.
"With love to the 'Old Man,' lover of life, always smiling, who knew pretty near close to everything. - Your family."
